Victoria's half is on flood watch as more rain soaks saturated soils
Severe weather brings flood watches and up to 90mm rain to Victoria.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a flood watch for most of Victoria including the northeast, central, southwest, northwest and parts of Gippsland. The Otway Ranges southwest of Melbourne and Gippsland face 24-hour rain totals up to 90 millimetres, with isolated falls up to 150mm possible in elevated regions.
Six-hourly totals up to 70mm have been forecast. Senior meteorologist Angus Hines warned that soils are already saturated after recent rain, with over 100mm already fallen in parts of the Otways.
Another 30 to 50mm could fall on top of that. Conditions are not expected to ease until late Saturday, with more flood warnings likely across Victoria's rivers over the weekend.
