Shark bites man in serious condition at Geraldton beach

Man in his 50s bitten at Glenfield Beach in serious but stable condition.

A man in his 50s was bitten by a shark at Glenfield Beach, north of Geraldton, on Monday morning shortly after 9.45am. The man was taken to Geraldton Health Campus and is in serious but stable condition.

The state's Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development responded to the remote beach after being told of a possible shark incident. The public was warned to take additional caution in the area.

Western Australia has experienced two fatal shark attacks since May this year.
