13-year-old charged after five youths raid bottle shop and punch owner's son
A 13-year-old was charged after five youths allegedly stole alcohol and assaulted staff at a bottle shop in southwest Sydney.
Five youths entered The Bottle-O on Holdsworth Drive in Narellan Vale at 6.05pm on Saturday, with one pulling his shirt over his face and two wearing hoodies. The shop owner, Guo, refused them entry without a supervising adult, but they allegedly ignored her and prevented her from closing the door.
When Guo's 20-year-old son Santiago tried to stop them, he was punched in the left eye, his vision blurring. Guo was pushed and knocked around during the scuffle.
Members of the public stopped a 13-year-old outside the shop, and police arrested him and took him to Narellan Police Station. He was charged with larceny under $2,000 and a second count for an unrelated theft in Mount Annan earlier this year.
