Man charged for hanging flag on Bondi Beach massacre bridge
A 53-year-old was charged for allegedly hanging a Palestinian flag from Campbell Parade bridge and making offensive gestures.
A 53-year-old man was arrested on Friday after police received complaints about him allegedly hanging what appeared to be a Palestinian flag from the Campbell Parade bridge and making offensive hand gestures.
The bridge overlooks Bondi Beach. It is at the site of the December 2025 massacre, which killed 15 people.
Police denied him bail. He was charged with behaving offensively in public.
This is the second incident at the bridge since the shooting. In January, a 23-year-old man pretended to hold a rifle at the site.
He yelled an anti-Semitic slur and intimidated two Jewish men. NSW Premier Chris Minns suggested the bridge should be removed to prevent future misuse.
