Cameron Bruce leads contenders to replace Fagan at Brisbane Lions
Cameron Bruce is the leading contender to become Brisbane Lions head coach after the club named its selection panel.
Cameron Bruce is an assistant coach at Brisbane since 2021. Bruce is the early frontrunner to become the Lions' next head coach.
Chris Fagan retired this week after leading the club to three straight premierships and 10 years in charge. Danny Daly, the football boss, was first seen as a leading candidate.
He accepted a new role as general manager of football instead. The selection panel includes club chairman Andrew Wellington, CEO Sam Graham, and former coach and director Leigh Matthews.
Club great Simon Black and sports psychologist Matti Clements will support the panel. Bruce previously worked under Alastair Clarkson at Hawthorn.
He also worked as a senior assistant at Carlton before joining Brisbane.
