Jai Opetaia could face Deontay Wilder on a Wales fight night
Opetaia is poised to accept a fight with Wilder, expected as co-main on the Fury vs Joshua card.
Australian boxer Jai Opetaia is poised to accept a fight with heavyweight legend Deontay Wilder. The Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua card is in Wales on December 12 (AEDT).
Opetaia is expected to be announced as co-main event on the card. Zuffa Boxing boss Dana White told Sky Sports that Opetaia is more than likely on the undercard.
The undercard means the fights before the main event. Wilder, 40, has won 45 fights and knocked out 43 of his opponents.
Wilder has lost four of his past six fights, including twice to Fury. Opetaia is 10cm shorter than Wilder and is likely to give up several kilograms to him.
A loss would not take any titles away, but it would be the first blemish on his 31-0 record.
