Jordan Dawson reports abusive Instagram message to police after semi-final loss
Crows captain Jordan Dawson reported an abusive Instagram message with a self-harm reference to police.
Adelaide Crows captain Jordan Dawson got an abusive message on Instagram with a self-harm reference following the team's semi-final loss to Brisbane on Saturday. Dawson posted on social media calling the attack disgusting and saying there is no place for it in the world.
The message was reported to South Australian Police and the AFL integrity unit. Dawson won the AFLPA's Robert Rose Most Courageous Player Award last month.
Dawson played through the season following his brother Jaryd's death in April. Dawson was also named vice-captain of the All-Australian team.
Teammate Callum Ah Chee also faced online abuse after the game. Crows chief executive Tim Silvers said the behaviour was disturbing and becoming more common.
