Sandhurst spinner Liam Bowe takes eight wickets in BDCA opener
Liam Bowe claimed 8-35 as Sandhurst dominated the opening round of the Bendigo District Cricket Association season.
The BDCA season began on Saturday with three scores of 300-plus and a fourth of 263. Cousins James and Xavier Ryan both made centuries for Bendigo, adding 211 in partnership against White Hills.
James scored 112 and Xavier 119. Judd Gilchrist made 153 not out for Huntly North against Kangaroo Flat.
The standout bowling performance came from Sandhurst's Liam Bowe, whose left-arm wrist spinners bamboozled Golden Square. Bowe took 8-35 off 19.5 overs, including three catches to slip fielder Dylan Gibson.
Golden Square collapsed from 2-77 to finish at 127.
