A Wendouree woman was charged with assault with a weapon, theft and reckless injury after an incident at a bottle shop in Bakery Hill on September 1. The woman allegedly selected alcoholic drinks and left without paying.
When staff and a customer confronted her, a struggle broke out. The woman then allegedly struck the staff member in the face with her fist while holding keys.
This caused injury to the worker's face and eye. She then fled on foot.
Police arrested her at a Wendouree address on September 2. She was charged with theft from a shop, recklessly causing injury, assault with a weapon and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
