Australian Olympic swimmer Ariarne Titmus gets engaged in Greece
Olympic champion Ariarne Titmus is engaged to Mac Powell. He proposed on a beach in Greece on her birthday, September 7.
Titmus, 26, and Powell, an investment analyst, met two years ago through a mutual friend on a blind date. Mac Powell and Titmus made their relationship public in early 2025.
Powell initially had no idea who Titmus was. The couple posted photos of the proposal with the caption 'you + me forever'.
Powell travelled to Brisbane weeks earlier to ask Titmus's father, Channel 7 presenter Steve Titmus, for his blessing. Titmus retired from competitive swimming last year after competing in the Paris Olympics.
She achieved an historic third individual gold medal. She won the 400m freestyle.
She was the first Australian since Dawn Fraser in 1964 to win back-to-back golds in the same event.
