Ronaldo's Al-Nassr beat Neftchi Fergana 3-1 after a missile delay

Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted a Houthi missile fired towards Riyadh.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr had their Asian Champions League kick-off pushed back by an hour on Monday. The Saudi-led military coalition said it had intercepted a missile fired by the Houthis towards Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia has recently faced a series of attacks from the Iran-backed group, including lethal hits on Riyadh's international airport. Riyadh residents got a phone alert telling them to stay in a safe place.

The coalition later said in a statement on X that it had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile. The stadium announcer said the match would be played and asked fans to stay in their seats.

Ronaldo scored his 981st career goal just before half-time as Al-Nassr won 3-1. The incident did not seem to affect Ronaldo.

Portugal provisionally suspended Ronaldo, 41, on Saturday after he walked out on the national team.
