Mother arrested after leaving four children alone for three-day cruise
A 29-year-old Florida woman was arrested after abandoning her four children, including a two-month-old infant, for a three-day cruise.
Nathalie Belizaire told her children's father she would leave them with their great-grandmother before boarding the Carnival Conquest to the Bahamas on September 25. She never brought them.
The father discovered the four children hiding together in the bathroom when he checked the apartment on Saturday night. Police and fire crews forced entry and found all four alone inside.
The boy's great-grandmother confirmed Belizaire had never arrived to collect the children. Belizaire's brother reported she texted him Saturday asking him to check on them.
Officers arrested her when she disembarked at PortMiami on Monday. She faces four counts of child neglect.
Bond was set at $10,000 and she was asked to stay away from the children, who are now in foster care.
