Man charged over Doveton death
A 36-year-old has been charged with murder after a 27-year-old man was found shot dead in a Doveton home.
A 27-year-old man was found unresponsive at a property on Banksia St in Doveton on Thursday morning about 11:30am. A woman inside the home performed first aid but could not save him.
Police treated the death as suspicious. A 36-year-old Dandenong man was arrested on Tuesday morning over unrelated matters.
After detectives interviewed him, he was charged with murder. Police believe the pair were known to each other.
A nearby resident told the Herald Sun the house had been raided by police several months ago. Residents expressed concerns about activity at the property and growing safety issues in the neighbourhood.
