Brisbane Council approves 51-storey Victory Tower hotel

Brisbane approved a 206.6-metre hotel tower above the heritage Victory Hotel with 284 rooms before the 2032 Olympics.

Brisbane City Council has approved Victory Tower, a 51-storey hotel development rising from the site of the CBD's landmark Victory Hotel. The 206.6-metre tower will include 284 hotel rooms, restaurants, function spaces, a swimming pool on the 40th floor and a rooftop bar with city views.

The development will be built on land currently used as the Victory Hotel's Charlotte Street beer garden, though the heritage pub itself (which has operated on the site since 1855) will be restored and reconfigured.

Precision Group will pay almost $2 million in infrastructure charges. The project is expected to be completed before the 2032 Olympic Games.
