Court hears killer showed sadistic traits 15 years before murdering partner
Expert evidence revealed Britt had anti-social traits with sadistic features and a 2006 report flagged he wanted to hurt people.
Adam James Britt, 41, is on trial for murdering his partner Tiffany Spence, 36, a mother of five, in September 2022. Spence died from blunt force trauma after being beaten over several days.
Forty per cent of her body showed bruising and fractures. In court on Monday, psychologist Ahu Kocak told the jury Britt had anti-social traits with sadistic features.
He was prone to using aggression to control women. A psychological report from 2006, about 15 years before the murder, described Britt as fascinated by death and wanting to hurt people.
In that report, Britt told the assessor that when he did bad things to people or animals, he felt no remorse because "they deserve it". Police recordings played to the court captured Britt yelling abuse at women after Spence's death.
