Man ordered to assessment before sentencing for crashing car into ex-partner's
Connell pleaded guilty to damaging his ex-partner's car in a driveway collision.
Connell, 37, went to a backyard barbecue at his ex-partner's South Albury home on August 13, 2026. As the evening went on, the two argued repeatedly about a missing mobile phone and money from his wallet.
Connell left briefly. Connell returned to continue the argument.
Connell walked to his car in the driveway and reversed straight into her Holden Commodore. The impact pushed her vehicle through a fence, causing significant damage.
Connell drove away but turned himself in to police at 11.10pm that same night and made full confessions. He pleaded guilty to a domestic violence charge of intentionally or recklessly destroying or damaging property.
A judge ordered a sentencing assessment report before deciding whether Connell will serve jail time. Sentencing was set for November 10.
