Canberra community raises $18,500 for bike track in Harrison's memory

Parents of Harrison Hall have raised over $18,500 to build a mountain bike track in his memory.

Harrison Hall loved mountain biking and dreamed of a local bike track. When he died of cardiac arrest just before his 15th birthday, his parents Tracy and Christian Hall decided to make his dream real.

A fundraiser for a community mountain bike track in Gordon, Canberra, exceeded expectations. As of this week, more than $18,500 has been donated.

The family says the support has given them strength during an impossibly hard time. They plan to launch a community petition and then seek ACT government approval.

Harrison had quickly become a skilled rider over four years and had trained with a coaching squad. He and his best friend Charlie had talked constantly about building a track on a Gordon hill so young riders could access good terrain without travelling far.

Harrison also donated his organs, potentially saving four lives.
