Motorcycle rider in induced coma after charity ride crash
Rachelle Johnson, a single mother, suffered serious brain injuries when her motorbike crashed during a charity ride on September 13.
Rachelle Johnson crashed her motorbike as she rounded a bend during the Bikers4Heroes charity ride through Royal National Park near Sydney on Sunday, September 13. Paramedics treated her at the scene.
A doctor arrived by helicopter and put Rachelle into an induced coma before she was transported by road ambulance to St George Hospital. Rachelle remains at the hospital with serious brain injuries and is struggling with memory and communication.
Sheree Curtis was riding nearby and was among the first to reach Rachelle after the crash and stayed to comfort her until paramedics arrived. Sheree is now leading a fundraising effort to support Rachelle's family, who face uncertain medical and living costs as only her recovery unfolds.
