Woman sought over Bega road death
Trevor Fleet, 73, died after being struck by a car on a Bega road in August; police have released a public appeal.
Trevor Fleet, a 73-year-old from Eden, died after an alleged hit-and-run on 31 August in Bega. Police say the driver, believed to be a woman about 30 to 40 years old, spoke to him face-to-face on Newtown Road near the Princes Highway, then reversed her car into him and drove away around 12:16 pm.
Paramedics treated him at the scene and took him to hospital in serious condition, but he died from his injuries on 1 September. Mr Fleet's long-term partner was in his car at the time and witnessed the incident.
Police say the meeting may have started as a road rage dispute. They believe the driver was in a large silver SUV, possibly a Holden, and may still be living in the local area.
Detective Inspector Justin Marks told the ABC the driver has a conscience and should come forward.
