Hayden Polglase appointed North Bendigo coach to defend premiership
Hayden Polglase is appointed North Bendigo senior coach after the Bulldogs won the premiership under co-coaches Bennett and Hartley.
North Bendigo has appointed Hayden Polglase as its new senior coach for the 2027 season. Polglase is 42 years old.
Polglase takes over after the Bulldogs won the Heathcote District league premiership last month. Hayden Polglase replaces co-coaches Rob Bennett and Ryan Hartley, who stepped down after the flag.
He spent the past three years as an assistant coach at Wedderburn. He helped Wedderburn win the North Central league premiership.
He also worked as a playing assistant at Marong, Hay and Inglewood. His first job is keeping as many players as possible.
The club already faces departures. Forward Dylan Klemm is leaving.
Four-time premiership player Darcy Richards is also leaving. Polglase sees opportunity in North Bendigo's strong reserves team.
The reserves have won 35 of their past 37 games.
