Wollongong drug dealer sentenced to year confined to home

A Wollongong man who ran a drug house on the city's outskirts has been sentenced to a year of home detention. Sean Paul O'Leary, 38, pleaded guilty in Wollongong Local Court on September 23 to commercial drug supply, cultivating prohibited plants, and allowing his home to be used as a drug premise.
Police searched his home in April 2025 and found 20 cannabis plants plus 636.6 grams of cannabis leaf stored in bags and jars. Officers also discovered 29.5 grams of methamphetamine, 0.06 grams of ketamine, 27.21 grams of heroin, and 323 grams of liquid butanediol.
A phone review showed he supplied small quantities to street-level users. Judge David Williams sentenced O'Leary to a two-year intensive correction order with the first 12 months as home detention.
