Beau Lamarre-Condon gives evidence in Sydney murder trial
The 31-year-old former police officer gave evidence Thursday in his double murder trial, pleading not guilty to charges.
Former NSW police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon took the stand Thursday at NSW Supreme Court in his double murder trial. Lamarre-Condon faces charges of shooting couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies with his service weapon on 19 February 2024.
Lamarre-Condon has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one charge of aggravated break and enter. During his testimony, Lamarre-Condon alleged he suffered homophobic abuse while working as an openly gay police officer.
A former supervisor allegedly said things including "I used to bash gay people while in Jindabyne". The prosecution called more than 50 witnesses over seven weeks before the defence began.
Lamarre-Condon's legal team claims he shot the two men in separate struggles while acting in self-defence. He then panicked when cleaning up.
