Scottsdale's old BP station sold, with a food van plan reportedly in the works
The previous owner had bought it 16 months earlier for a price listed online at $475,000.
The Scottsdale BP, a main road service station that dates back to 1959, sold on September 30. The Scottsdale BP was bought by a young entrepreneur for an undisclosed price.
The station has been inactive for several years, and its fuel tanks have been removed. The new owner is understood to plan a food van style business and to use the workshop for a community venture.
Sales agent Rodney Rawlings, of Elders Launceston, said the site at 7 King Street drew plenty of interest. The station was sold just 16 months after Tas Petroleum bought it, for a price online portals list as $475,000.
Tas Petroleum consolidated into a nearby station on George Street soon after, leaving the King Street site unneeded.
