Scarlett Johansson sings Happy Birthday at Ray Gunn premiere in London
The premiere fell on the birthday of composer Michael Giacchino, who took a selfie with the stars.
Director Brad Bird invited voice stars Scarlett Johansson and Sam Rockwell to sing Happy Birthday to composer Michael Giacchino. The London premiere of the Netflix animated film Ray Gunn fell on Giacchino's birthday.
The stars sang a short, sped-up version, and Giacchino took a selfie with them all. Johansson said working with Bird was her main reason for joining the film.
Johansson voices Venus Nova, a famous pop star who is the love interest of Ray Gunn. Sam Rockwell voices Raymond 'Ray' Gunn, a small-time private detective.
Bird said the film came from misunderstanding the B-52s' 1979 track Planet Claire. The film plays at select cinemas on December 4 before its Netflix release on December 18.
