Teen probed for posting assault footage he didn't film
A 13-year-old Upper Coomera boy was dealt with by police for publishing video of a security guard's brutal assault.
A teenager from Upper Coomera posted footage of an assault on 66-year-old security guard Chris Price at Westfield Coomera on the Gold Coast. Two teenage males attacked Price on Tuesday evening, causing a serious head injury when he fell.
Police say publishing footage of crimes can be a criminal offence under Youth Justice Act provisions. The boy didn't participate in the assault but faced action for sharing the video.
A 16-year-old and 15-year-old were charged with the attack. Price was hospitalized in serious condition.
