Coward punch leaves teen with permanent brain injury, victim pleads for jail
An 18-year-old suffered permanent brain injury from a coward punch outside an Adelaide nightclub.
Beau Brownbill was knocked unconscious by a 17-year-old outside a Hindley Street nightclub in February. The attack was caught on CCTV.
The punch fractured his skull and caused lasting brain injury that affected his mental, physical and social health. When asked outside court if he would apologise, the teenage attacker replied: "Nah."
He had apologised through his lawyer in court. He asked the magistrate not to record a conviction or detention.
Beau's parents say the last seven months have been "absolute hell" and their son is not the same. The magistrate said the CCTV footage was shocking to see and will sentence the teenager next week.
