Adelaide driver overturns parking fine with dashcam evidence
An Adelaide driver successfully challenged an AI-issued $342 parking fine after dashcam video showed he was parking, not blocking a bike lane.
An Adelaide driver has overturned a $342 parking fine issued by an AI-powered camera system. The City of Adelaide alleged he was in a bicycle lane.
The driver's dashcam showed him indicating and reversing into a parallel parking space. The Park Safe system uses AI, number plate recognition, GPS and cameras to find parking breaches.
In the first three quarters of 2025-26, it issued more than 27,000 fines. During that time, 702 fines were withdrawn after drivers requested review.
The council said trained officers review images before issuing fines.
