Knights fan won't miss grand final despite broken collarbone
Chris Clancy broke his collarbone when a car hit a crowd of Knights fans, but told doctors to operate after the game.
Chris Clancy was among ten supporters injured when an 18-year-old driver lost control at a roundabout in Wallsend. About 1,000 fans were there to farewell the Newcastle team before Sunday's grand final.
Chris Clancy suffered a broken collarbone requiring surgery and a suspected foot injury. From his hospital bed at John Hunter, he told doctors they could operate anytime except during the game.
Knights players Kalyn Ponga, Dylan Lucas, Greg Marzhew and others flooded his social media with messages of support. A five-year-old girl remains in critical but stable condition.
