BLOOM art garden opens this weekend at Newcastle's Charlestown Square
Large immersive artwork by 3D artist Melissa Mathieson transforms Charlestown Square into a whimsical garden, free and open to all ages.
BLOOM, a giant art installation, launches this weekend at Charlestown Square in Newcastle. BLOOM is part of the New Annual festival starting September 25.
The oversized garden is filled with whimsical characters, colourful foliage and larger-than-life details. Visitors can explore and take photos.
Created by 3D artist Melissa Mathieson (also known as MelissaLovesSushi), the installation works for all ages. It promises a sense of childlike wonder.
BLOOM has only been shown once before, in Melbourne. It is free and open to the community.
This makes it a good option for school holidays. The New Annual festival runs for ten days with more than 40 events and 400 artists.
