Teen bushwalker Holly Porter falls about 10 metres, walks away bruised
Police praised the pair for waiting for help, since climbing out could have resulted in injuries.
Holly Porter, 17, fell about 10 metres down a nearly vertical slope on a walk in Tasmania. Holly Porter and her boyfriend, Seb Bianchi, were walking back from Lobster Falls on Saturday.
Only a flimsy tree stopped her from falling twice as far into Lobster Rivulet. Seb said he thought she was going to die.
Holly walked away with only bruises, a sore knee and scrapes on her back. With no safe way back up, the pair stayed put and called emergency services.
Tasmania Police search and rescue crews lifted them to safety by 9pm. Police Inspector Craig Fox praised them for showing initiative.
