Teen pleads guilty to 20+ car theft charges including 160kmh chases in stolen

Blake Grinstead, 19, pleaded guilty to more than 20 charges from several car thefts and dangerous high-speed driving.

Grinstead pleaded guilty in Ballarat court on October 7 to several car thefts and high-speed police chases. In April, he was a passenger in a stolen white Subaru that hit 160kmh through residential Ballarat streets.

Police and a helicopter chased him. Officers used stop sticks to puncture the tyres, but the car kept going through suburbs.

When arrested nearby, police found two bags of methamphetamine and two fake $100 notes on him. On July 18, he was in another stolen Subaru chase at speeds between 100kmh and 160kmh.
