Portland golfer equals 65 course record at Heywood
Noah McLeod, 24, equalled Heywood Golf Club's course record with a seven-under par 65, sharing the honour with Brad Koenig.
Noah McLeod shot a seven-under par 65 on November 3 to equal Heywood Golf Club's course record. The Portland-based golfer carded an eagle, six birdies and one bogey to win the men's stableford event with 37 points.
McLeod, who grew up in Heywood, began wondering about the record when he made his final birdie on the 13th hole, knowing two holes remained. McLeod parred the 14th and drained a six-inch putt on the 15th to match the record held by club stalwart Brad Koenig.
McLeod plays as a shift worker at the Portland smelter and recently switched to new clubs.
