Upper Murray football club Corryong votes on recess after 2027
Corryong Football Netball Club members vote Friday on proposal to end in 2027 and form new Upper Murray team in separate competition.
The Demons face a crucial vote Friday on entering recess after the 2027 season. An AGM Wednesday will set the stage for the outcome.
The club's committee has proposed 2027 as the final year in its current form, with the club ceasing UMFNL affiliation from 2028. A sub-committee would then explore forming a new Upper Murray team.
This team would compete in the Tallangatta and District Football-Netball League instead. The plan offers no guarantee.
The sub-committee must first assess player numbers, league requirements, facilities and finances. The proposal follows a difficult run on field.
The club has just two wins in 64 matches in the post-COVID period.
