Hayden Panettiere dead from overdose weeks after rehab
The Heroes and Nashville star was 36. She died from fentanyl, alprazolam, and other drugs.
Hayden Panettiere was found unresponsive in an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina, on August 16. Panettiere had left a drug rehab facility just weeks before her death.
A coroner found her death was accidental. Fentanyl, its by-product, alprazolam (an anxiety drug), a muscle relaxer, and a depression treatment caused it.
Paramedics gave CPR and advanced help for more than 40 minutes before she was pronounced dead. The autopsy showed no signs of trauma.
In her memoir, published in May, Panettiere described lifelong struggles with alcohol and postpartum depression.
