ACT firefighters' 32km climb funds Lifeline Canberra mental health line

In his construction industry days, he saw how isolation harms people. His peer support work means attending deaths.

This trauma fuels his fundraising drive. Lifeline Canberra answered 36,000 calls in the past year.

That is nearly double the 19,000 calls from the year before. Money stress is now the top reason for calls.

Bailey-Price says physical exercise is vital for mental health. So is having access to crisis support.

The challenge kicks off at 6am on October 17.
