Festival organizer steps down after decade with no replacement in sight
After ten years running Cradle Country Music Festival, Neale Marshall is stepping down with no one yet volunteering to take over.
Marshall has organized the Cradle Country Music Festival for a decade, growing it from a one-day event to a three-day festival. After the upcoming October event, he plans to step back.
"I want to spend more time with my partner and travel," he said. Nobody has put their hand up to take over the event, meaning the 10th edition could be the last.
The festival is not a profitable thing, Marshall said. "You do it because you love it."
The event now attracts country musicians from across Australia who approach Marshall directly after hearing the festival's reputation.
