Three charged with murder of student Marco Tapia
Three people arrested and charged with murder in the September 1 shooting of university student Marco Tapia in Sydney.
Marco Tapia, 23, a biomedical engineering student, was shot dead after three males, one allegedly armed with a pistol, entered his Glen Alpine family home in Sydney's southwest on September 1. Police say the wrong house was targeted in what appears to be a botched gangland hit.
On Tuesday, detectives arrested two men aged 22 and 23, and a 16-year-old boy in the town of Junee. All three face murder charges, plus weapons and break-in offences.
Earlier, two younger people aged 14 and 16 were charged for alleged roles in preparation and cleanup. Five people are now charged in the killing.
