Morgan Engineering wins Business of the Year at Hunter awards

Morgan Engineering is an Upper Hunter manufacturing company. Morgan Engineering won Business of the Year at the Business Hunter Awards on Friday night.
The company is based at McDougalls Hill just outside Singleton. Morgan Engineering won four awards in total: Business of the Year, Excellence in Large Business, Workplace Health and Wellbeing, and Young Business Leader.
Morgan Engineering provides industrial services to the Hunter's mining, construction and power industries. The judges noted its growth from 80 to more than 130 employees and commitment to apprentice training and staff development.
Workshop manager Brody Nowlan started as an apprentice in 2011. He won Young Business Leader and now oversees four departments with some 67 employees.
The awards attracted a record 300-plus entries. Business Hunter celebrated its 140th anniversary this year.
