Chery's new ute lands February 2027 with 96km electric range
The Chery Stockman diesel hybrid ute arrives in Australia next February with 96km of electric range, outpacing the Ford Ranger Hybrid's 50km.
Chery has released full specs for the Stockman, its first ute for the Australian market, launching 1 February 2027. The diesel plug-in hybrid has a braked towing capacity of 3495kg, just 5kg shy of the Ford Ranger Hybrid, BYD Shark 6 Performance and GWM Cannon Alpha.
Where it stands out is electric range: 96km on the honest WLTP cycle beats Ford's 50km and the Shark's 80km. The Stockman weighs 2735kg kerb weight with a 765kg payload.
The 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine produces 350kW and 800Nm, using a 34kWh battery under the tub. Chery says it will burn 1.1L per 100km on combined cycle and emit 30g/km of CO2.
A petrol version with 395kW and 1000Nm follows in late 2027.
