Sam Walker to decide on Roosters deal by November 1 deadline
Sam Walker is meeting his managers Monday to finalise a three-year Roosters contract worth about $1.4m per season until end of 2030.
Sam Walker is meeting his management team on Monday to broker a new deal with the Sydney Roosters before the November 1 open-market deadline. The Roosters have offered a three-year extension worth about $1.4 million per season.
The extension would keep the 24-year-old at the club until at least the end of 2030. Walker scored a try in his Kangaroos debut against Fiji on Sunday.
He said he has little appetite for testing the open market and expects to make a decision within days. Walker parked contract talks during the NRL regular season to focus on his international debut.
The Roosters are keen to lock down Walker alongside halfback James Tedesco. Tedesco has signalled he wants to play one more season in 2028.
The club lost several players to rival clubs and rugby union after winning the premiership.
