Ted Lasso season 4 honors Anthony Head with tribute in recent episode

Ted Lasso aired a dedication to Anthony Head, who played Rupert Mannion and died in June at age 72.

The ninth episode of Ted Lasso's current season ended with a title card reading "In memory of Anthony Head". Head died in June 2026 at 72 after complications from pneumonia.

Sarah Fisher, Anthony Head's long-term partner and animal welfare advocate, died several months earlier, in December 2025, after she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Head played Rupert Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, King Uther in Merlin, and roles in Little Britain.

His acting career spanned more than four decades. The tribute acknowledges his contribution to the Apple TV+ series.
