Canberra Centre's secret rooftop bar opens with spicy Asian cocktails
Oh My Papa rooftop bar and Asian fusion restaurant opens at Canberra Centre above Kingpin.
The two-level venue sits in a corner of Canberra Centre many people didn't know existed. Downstairs is a sparkly Asian fusion restaurant.
Upstairs is a rooftop bar with open windows looking out to Bunda Street and beyond. The owners are Nikki Lertaromrat, her sister Aya, and Chief Pattanakajorn.
They already run a popular Oh My Papa in Newcastle. Cocktails come with cheeky names like Baby I'm Thirsty and Papa Don't Preach, with unexpected spice.
Food is designed for sharing. The menu has Thai, Japanese, Malaysian, Vietnamese and Chinese dishes.
Try smoky chicken yakitori, crispy karaage chicken bao, and slow-cooked massaman lamb shank. Lertaromrat says the rooftop is one of the things they're most excited about.
She thinks Canberrans will love staying for dinner then heading upstairs for drinks without leaving the building.
