Parents push to build mountain bike park honouring son's dying wish
Parents Tracy and Christian Hall want to build a mountain bike park honouring their son Harry, who died unexpectedly.
Harry Hall was a mountain biking enthusiast who dreamed of building a track with his best friend Charlie in southern Canberra. Harry died after developing pericarditis, swelling around his heart, following the flu and gastro.
During a school camp, he complained of chest pains but wasn't quickly diagnosed. Harry had a hole in his aorta, fixed in surgery, but his brain didn't survive the lack of oxygen.
Harry was his parents' only child, born after seven years of IVF treatment. As an organ donor, he saved four lives.
Now his parents are fundraising through GoFundMe to build the bike park, hoping the ACT Government will match the funds. They've identified a block of land behind Covenant Christian School where Harry loved to ride.
