Worker hit by unregistered Skoda after chasing thieves in Delacombe
A 23-year-old worker was hit by a cream-coloured Skoda after he chased off thieves trying to steal a recovered truck in Delacombe.
On April 28 at 9.20pm, the worker and a colleague scared off three people attempting to access a recovered black Ford Ranger at a tow yard on Elizabeth Street. As they followed the offenders onto La Trobe Street, one of them ran to a car.
The worker ran back to get one of his work colleagues' cars when an unregistered cream-coloured Skoda hit him at the intersection of Stonepark Road. The worker was knocked airborne but escaped serious injury with bruises and scrapes.
Police believe the same man who tried to steal the truck was driving the Skoda, which fled in convoy with a blue vehicle. The two women have been identified and the Skoda recovered.
Police are seeking dashcam footage from the area.
