Disability worker banned for two years after assault conviction
Chhabi Lal Acharya has been barred from NDIS work for two years after a 2022 conviction for indecently assaulting a teenage girl.
The Lavington man was convicted in 2022 of assault with indecency. Acharya touched a girl's bare thigh while driving her from a medical clinic in early 2018.
Acharya also asked her about her sexual activities and asked her to kiss him. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission has now banned him from providing any services to disability participants.
The ban is effective from September 30. It blocks him from any contact with NDIS clients.
It also blocks his access to their personal or financial information. Acharya received a six-month community corrections order when first sentenced in Albury Local Court.
