Thousands protest Perth weapons expo, vowing peace after 2024 violence
Thousands of anti-war protesters plan to rally at Perth's weapons expo.
Thousands of anti-war protesters plan to rally outside Land Forces 2026 in Perth on Tuesday. WA Anti-War Collective spokesman Sam Wainwright told AAP the protest would be entirely peaceful.
At the same event in Melbourne in 2024, clashes between protesters and police left 27 officers injured. Protesters allegedly threw rocks, bottles, liquid which smelt of vomit, horse manure and eggs at police and conference attendees.
WA police have extra powers for the three-day conference, including bag searches and checkpoints. The expo brings together thousands of government, military and industry delegates from Australia and overseas.
