Hudson Young visits PNG as Raiders star considers Chiefs move
Hudson Young visited PNG to consider joining the Chiefs after the Raiders withdrew a $1.1 million-a-year offer.
The 28-year-old forward visited PNG to explore what life could look like with the NRL's newest expansion team. The club withdrew a four-year deal worth $1.1 million per season, with Young's eyes on a potentially richer offer elsewhere.
Young says he won't leave Canberra until 2028 and remains committed to the Raiders for now. Hudson Young admits the PNG move is money-driven, telling the Sydney Morning Herald the larger paycheck could set up his family's future.
If he signs with PNG, he will join fellow NRL stars Jarome Luai, Connor Watson, Zac Lomax, and Joey Manu.
