Wests Tigers made $9m offer to Cleary including Fowler deal

Wests Tigers made a $9 million package offer to halfback Cleary starting 2028, including a lucrative A-League contract for partner Mary Fowler.

The Tigers pitched the deal to Cleary's management at least 96 hours ago. The deal was worth $3 million combined over three years.

Fowler, a Matildas star at Manchester City, would have earned roughly double her current wage at the Central Coast Mariners. Cleary appears set to recommit to Penrith, where he already has two seasons locked in plus a two-year option.

The Tigers are outsiders now, especially with Cleary's younger brother Jett confirming a two-year Penrith deal from 2027. PNG Chiefs had previously offered Cleary as much as $8.4 million tax-free to play for their expansion team from 2028.
