Autumn Glow installed as $1.20 favorite for Champions Mile
Autumn Glow, regarded as Australia's best horse, is $1.20 favorite for the $3 million VRC Champions Mile at Flemington.
The five-year-old mare was installed as the heavy favorite after a dominant display at Royal Randwick weeks ago. Racing analyst David Gately explained the odds: 'She took the mantle off Via Sistina when she retired and she's done nothing but win her whole career, bar one run at 2000m.'
The champion is widely considered Australia's best horse on current form. The track at Flemington is rated Good 4, with possible upgrade to Good 3 depending on rainfall through the afternoon.
The Champions Mile is the feature race of Stakes Day, the final day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
