WA funds program to tackle workplace stress in public sector
Western Australia funds a program to help public sector agencies manage workplace stress. The stress affects at least 44,000 workers.
The union CPSU/CSA received funding to design a program. The program helps Western Australia's public sector workers identify and assess workplace stress.
The workers also manage related risks. Up to ten government agencies will deliver the program.
They use existing workplace health and safety systems. The initiative aims to reach at least 44,000 public sector members.
Union branch secretary Melanie Bray said the goal is lasting cultural change through durable practice. The project will produce resources and tools.
These are for all WA public sector agencies, health and safety representatives, and workplace teams. They will build their ability to prevent and manage workplace stress.
